springerin—Hefte für Gegenwartskunst
Editorial design
We thought it was time to develop a new layout involving a modification of the design grid and its implication and formal usage, though still working within the bounds of its tradition using linear grotesque fonts. The three new fonts—Haas, Graphik and Walsheim—complement one another in their basic classifications, nevertheless still being opposites in their geometry’s. This is established using a rotating principle of the given fonts in headlines, introduction- and body text within the sections netzteil, main section and artscribe. Additionally to these changes, the font size of the body text has been increased improving legibility and the relation of white space towards headlines and introductions has been refined. The intervention within the netzteil has been converted following the media specific format and handling.
